Imagine a city filled with neighborhood districts supporting unique, independent businesses serving the needs of customers as shopping destinations, social gathering places and centers for neighborhood culture.

AIBA has developed a program to assist neighborhood business districts in becoming IBIZ Districts. These areas may range from a few blocks to a larger zone and are home to an exciting variety of locally owned businesses offering a unique blend of goods and services not found in chain stores or big box retailers.

Each IBIZ district reflects the culture, not just of Austin, but of the local neighborhood it is in. The businesses in each district host various events and invite you out for a day or evening of local festivities. Independent Business Investment Zones (IBIZ) are a program of the Austin Independent Business Alliance (AIBA). The program and the resources available to merchants are supported buy the City of Austin's Small Business Development Department.
