The Save Our Springs Alliance is happy to announce that the Austin City Council declared Sept 25 Barton Springs University Day and approved free swim for that day. Mark your calendars for fun, wellness and outdoor education. The event is open to the public. Barton Springs University day is designed primarily for high school students but includes college students and the general public. It features lectures, hands on activities, an interactive community fair and training by leading academics, professionals, and policy makers on central Texas water science, public policy, history and sustainable living.

Navidad Farms is gearing up for their 19th Annual Open House at the store on Circle Drive on Oct 13 and 14 from 10am to 6pm.  Those of you who have pre-ordered pecans will be able to pick up at Open House.  At this year's open house, they will be serving tamales for you to try.  Open House weekend will be a GREAT time to do your ordering - everything from tamales to gift candy tins to new party platters and candies. Saturday mornings are for singing! Laura Freeman and Scottish Rite Theater invite families to come and sing together in the beauty and comfort of Austin’s oldest and dearest theater. The Save Our Springs Alliance is hosting a reunion party to celebrate the reissue of the music video "Barton Springs Eternal" at Threadgill's on Jun 21 from 6-8pm and from 8-10pm. In 1992 a group of Austin musicians, artists and activists recorded the song "Barton Springs Eternal" in a colorful, fun-filled two day session. The video version has now been edited into a lively, all star Austin effort that retains the energy of the era and the importance of the movement. Admittance is free but donations to Save Our Springs and Save Barton Creek are graciously accepted.
