The Original Worm is excited to be an exhibitor at the Westin Fit Expo this Wednesday at the Westin Domain Library. Link & Pin Gallery presents work from The Pablove Foundation which teaches children and teens living with cancer to develop their creative voice through photography. This exhibit features the beautiful work of  students while raising awareness of childhood cancer. With our graduates’ photographic vision on display, the community can come together to support the continuation of our photography program in Austin. All proceeds from print sales directly support our Powered by Pablove childhood cancer research grants program. Reception May 24 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm with show running May 25-27.

Big Wy's is gracing the stage at Spiderhouse this Saturday Apr 21 at 8pm with some sweet brass that's groovy as FUNK! Big Wy's Brass band will bring you all of the best New Orleans style brass along side of fellow funker Flyjack. The Lawyer Referral Service of Central Texas is having a special LegalLine event that is happening in accordance to The American Bar Association’s Law Day. This year’s Law Day theme is “Separation of Powers, Framework for Freedom” so they will have two immigration attorneys and one Family Law and Estate Planning attorney who will be answering questions over the phone pertaining to issues arising from current administration policy and procedure. Saturday Apr 21 is Record Store Day and End of an Ear is ready to celebrate! They will open an hour early on Record Store Day at 10am and have a whole list of the new releases coming out that day. They will have a majority of them, but some titles will be limited or allocated. One item per title per person (basically you can't grab multiple copies of a release). No special orders or holds on Record Store Day titles. Come be the first to get the goods!
 

For anyone who hasn't been, the Navidad Farms open house is a bi-yearly food tasting event held at their store. They make complimentary dishes out of the great Texas made food products that they sell.  They are easy to prepare, simple entertaining ideas to use with our dip mixes, sauces, salsas and jellies. Waterloo Records is excited that Apr 20 is the 9th annual Austin Give 5% to Mother Earth event day. This city-wide campaign raises money, in honor of Earth Day, for nine environmental nonprofits that work protect Austin's natural treasures, including our parks and open space, creeks and trees and supporting sustainable food. Waterloo Records will be donating 5% of their revenues to Austin Give 5. Plan out your day to Eat, Drink, Shop and Play at as many of the participating Austin-area businesses as you can. Don't forget that Apr 21 is RECORD STORE DAY - a day for the people who make up the world of the record store—the staff, the customers, and the artists—to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store and the special role these independently owned stores play in their communities. Get you some vinyl!

Chez Zee's author-speaker series, featuring celebrated authors and speakers, is co-hosted by Cari Clark, avid reader, and Sharon Watkins, book and library cheerleader at The Gallery at Chez Zee American Bistro. They'll soon be replaced with warmer weather dishes still in R&D.  In the meantime, get some tastes of the season as we keep up with our comforting classic menu items, as well as the Grilled Carrot Salad and Southern-Fried Oyster Mushrooms making regular appearances on the specials menu. Studio Mantra is currently seeking applicants for their Energy Exchange Program.  Members of the Energy Exchange Program help out with studio laundry in exchange for a Monthly Unlimited Class Membership. As an Energy Exchanger, you'll have a designated pick up and drop off day to take home a bag of laundry (roughly three loads) and return it to the studio, washed and folded, within one week. They look forward to talking with you about it soon!

Save Our Springs is hiring summer interns to work at their educational table at Barton Springs and other outreach/educational events. Interns educate citizens about the work of SOS, the fragile world of Barton Springs, and local conservation efforts.  We will train.  Contact intern@sosalliance.org to apply. Don't forget to submit your photos to the upcoming "Faces of Barton Springs" exhibit that will be installed at the Beverly S. Lawyer Referral Service of Central Texas hosts LegalLine on the first Tuesday of every month offering free legal advice by phone from lawyer volunteers who answer legal questions and give brief legal advice. Topics may include family law, criminal matters, consumer issues, estate planning, landlord/tenant issues, employment law, and personal injury. Next session is Apr 3 between 5:30 and 7:30pm. All calls are confidential and anonymous. Bilingual (English/Spanish) attorneys will be available.
 

It's that time again - a full week of Free/All Ages live music is coming to Spiderhouse Mar 11 - 19 for Spring Break! All of these shows are sponsored by Lone Star Beer for ultimate spring break relaxing and a great way to support a local watering hole during the madness of SXSW.

 

On Mar 9 to 11, Scottish Rite Theater presents a workshop production of an original script by Kendra Dobson that will take you on a journey into an Afrofuturist prototype drama. Included with each ticket is both a digital comic book AND access to an augmented reality app with illustrations by local artist Lakeem Wilson. The stage performance is a combination of interactive augmented reality, music, projection, and story. Recommended for teens and adults.
