Lawyer Referral Service of Central Texas is a non profit public service whose mission is to assist the public locate help for their legal needs by providing legal information, referrals to lawyers, and referrals to community partners. We help take the confusion and fear out of searching for a lawyer or other resources. Lawyers are screened for experience in business issues, family law, criminal law, wills and estate planning, real estate, consumer, personal injury, and more.

  • Harry Potter Party at BookPeople

    By request of the Ministry of Magic, all witches, wizards, and magical allies should report to BookPeople on Jul 31 at 6pm for the celebration of one of the most extraordinary wizards of all time, Harry Potter. Festivities will include wizard-style portraiture, a Marauder's Map Scavenger Hunt, a fantastical costume contest, trivia, and so much more! So, don your robes and flourish your wands for an experience twenty years in the making! Cost: $10 per person or $15 for a Child/Guardian Combo Pack.


  • Open Slots at TexHealth

    Effective Sep 1, TexHealth will have about 50 open slots, then 20 per month for several months. To receive premium assistance in September enrollment must be done no later than Jul 31. These slots are funded until Aug 2019. Please contact Jim at 512-524-2618 or TexHealth will take groups of 2-50 employees located in the service area (Travis, Williamson, Hays, Burnet, Bastrop, Harris, Milam) on a first-come-first-serve basis.


  • Hey Lolly Music Singalong at Scottish Rite Theater

    Saturday mornings are for singing! Laura Freeman and Scottish Rite Theater invite families to come and sing together in the beauty and comfort of Austin’s oldest and dearest theater. Laura Freeman, lead singer of The Hey Lolly Band, will lead the group in songs and movement. The words and chords will be provided so bring your ukulele or guitar and strum along with us. Showtimes are Jul 14, Jul 21, and Aug 4 at 10am. Admission $3 per person at the door.

  • Summer Hours at Navidad Farms

    Navidad Farms has their summer hours in full effect. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00-4:00pm and Saturday from 10-5:00pm. They are open most Sundays too. Stop by to sit on the porch and watch the hummers or pick some big, plump and delicious figs from their tree. They just hate to see them hit the ground! They will also be at Wimberly Market Days on Jul 7 and can bring pre-ordered pecans if you like.


  • Open House at Freestyle Language Center

    Freestyle Language Center is hosting an open house for their Fall Session on Aug 23 from 6 to 8pm. Potential students can meet the teachers, learn about the unique curriculum and approach for the many levels of French, Spanish and Italian - and get a registration deal and free swag to boot. PLUS! Learn about their exclusively online Spanish classes! Back by Popular Demand Fall 2018!  The event runs between 6-8pm, however, feel free to drop by any time as our presentation about our model runs every 15 minutes, first one starting at 6 pm.   • Barton Springs Eternal

    The Save Our Springs Alliance is hosting a reunion party to celebrate the reissue of the music video "Barton Springs Eternal" at Threadgill's on Jun 21 from 6-8pm and from 8-10pm. In 1992 a group of Austin musicians, artists and activists recorded the song "Barton Springs Eternal" in a colorful, fun-filled two day session. The video version has now been edited into a lively, all star Austin effort that retains the energy of the era and the importance of the movement. Admittance is free but donations to Save Our Springs and Save Barton Creek are graciously accepted.
